The Harshness of Drugs
There are many underlying problems in our society that are overlooked. Some problems such as crime, violence, and littering will always be there- no matter how hard people try to stop such things. So people tend to try and overlook these problems. One of the main problems in the USA is the drug problem. Reports show that millions of people in the US have used and or are currently using an illegal drug of some sort. Many of these reformed drug addict have given reports on how using drugs has permanently damaged their lives. The most alarming recent studies show that the drug problem in the US has stayed the same, while the drug use among teenagers had risen drastically, according to the National Household Survey on Drug abuse by the Department of Health and Human Services. This is a problem that society cannot just overlook. The 1996 Parents Resource Institute for Drug Education survey estimates that every 1 in 10 high school senior use drugs daily. This figure is very disturbing. Our youth today are spending more time getting high than studying for classes or preparing for college.
