A detailed Summary of Synopsis of Odyssey
Being that this week's assignment is only to read the first 8 book of "The Odyssey", it is hard to determine what all of the underlying themes of this piece might be. However, in the first set of required reading, specifically in the first two books, I found a number of themes including revenge as well as power.
I see revenge evident in the situation in Odysseus' household. The suitors exhibit extremely offensive behavior due to Odysseus's absence because they think he is dead. Some are hoping to marry Penelope, and hopefully become the new king, and many are just taking advantage of his absen
