Squire Cass, who lived in Raveloe, lived in a huge house. He was known to the people of Raveloe as a very rich man, with a rich family. He has two completely opposite sons, Dunstan (nicknamed Dunsey) and Godfrey. Dunstan liked to gamble and drink. Leaving Godfrey with the other things of life, such as being good-natured and handsome, very different from his brother.
