Huck Finn

Mark Twain wrote this book in 1884. In the very beginning it has a warning saying, "Persons attempting to find motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot''. I don't really understand this since there are two plots that are filled with motive to do well.

The two characters that lead this story are Huckleberry Finn, who goes by the name of Huck Finn and Jim, a runaway slave who Huck grew up with. The sub characters are Tom Sawyer, who is the best friend of Huck. Then the widow who took Huck in to civilize him and Ms. Watson, her sister who owns Jim and helps raise Huck. Then there are the King and Duke, who lie and cheat people out of their money moving from town to town.

The book begins with Huck recapping what happened after his last adventure with Tom Sawyer. He and Tom found $12,000 dollars and split it 50/50. The widow and her sister, Ms. Watson, take in Huck to "sivilize" him. Now Huck lives in a house, sleeps in a bed, goes to school an

The Duke and King escape from their jail, end up finding Jim and turn him in claiming he belonged to a plantation so they could get the reward money. Huck finds out and goes to the family who has him. As he is walking up to the house he is mistaken as the family's nephew Tom, who was coming to visit. When the real Tom arrives Huck catches him down the road and discovers it is Tom Sawyer. Tom agrees to help Huck steal Jim and comes to the house saying he is Sid, Tom's brother. After a very long attempt to get Jim out and as they are leaving they get caught. When they are dragged home the truth comes out about Huck and his long adventure. Huck is told that his father was killed and Ms.Watson died setting Jim free in her will.

d gets Bible lessons and he isn't so sure he likes it.

Along their way they get separated and Huck finds himself living in a deranged town with a very deranged family, the Grangfords, who take him in. The Grangfrods and the Jacksons are having a deadly battle killing each other off slowly but sit together in church peacefully. It all blows up when a Grangford daughter and a Jackson son run off t
