She was furious! How dare...he! Krista stomped around her room in circles. She muttered to herself, "That good for nothing...that's it!" she screamed as she leaped at the phone. What she would say ran through her mind as she punched in her boyfriend's phone number. One ring...two rings...three rings, "Pick up, pick up!" she cried as the phone's rings suddenly came to a halt and a voice took the void the rings had left."Hello?" the voice on the other line barely managed through a giggle. She knew that voice; she'd know it from anywhere. Her "friend" Alyssa asked once more, "Hello is anyone there?" What was Alyssa doing at Nick's house Krista wondered? Krista wanted to scream...to jump through the phone; instead, against her first reaction she coolly stated, "Nick please." A gasp managed to escape Alyssa's lips...a commotion on Alyssa's end of the phone...finally Nick spoke, "Oh, hey umm Krista, I've been meaning to call you." "Oh I bet," Krista hissed, "What is SHE doing over there?" Images of the two of them flashed through her head, making her angrier by the second. "What does your boyfriend have to do with this?" Krista asked as she shuddered by just the mere mention of the word boyfriend. Reagan got off the phone with Alex. "Well, what did he say?," Krista inquired. Krista shook with anger over the day's drama. "What is that supposed to mean, Krista?" Nick asked with a cord of panic in his voice. "Come in," Krista said. The door opened to reveal Alex, Reagan's boyfriend. Alex walked over and wrapped Reagan into an embrace. Upon witnessing this show of emotion, Krista began to sniffle. Alex walked over and kissed Krista on the head and gave her a brother-like hug. She managed a weak smile, hoping that he would buy it. Laughter, evil laughter filled Nick's ear, compliments of Krista. "How are you holding up?" he asked, he grimaced as he looked at the candy wrappers, chip and cookie bags, and ice cream cartons spread across Krista's bed. The radio blared the song "Emotions" by Destiny's Child, the words "Nobody left in this world to kiss goodnight" stuck in her head and Krista found that thoughts of Nick once again occupied her mind.
