Save the Last Dance

Through out history, many films have reflected society. Save the Last Dance and A Time To Kill, they both basically look at issues with interracial relationships and racism. They are examples of movies that have reflected society. Racism is a major issue in both of these movies. In the movie 12 Angry Men, society is reflected through the trial of a teenage boy with a troubled past, the so-called facts of his trial and the biased jury members, who are deciding his fate.

The young boy is being accused of murder in the first degree, of his father. He is a troubled child, however this is not the first time he has run into the law. When he was younger he threw a rock at his teacher. He has also been repeatedly arrested for mugging and k


The jurors were all very different, but they had to lay aside their differences, and try to decipher whether the young boy was guilty or not. One of the jurors wanted to get out of the hot room and go home and watch the baseball game on television. He was avoiding civil responsibilities, which are very important. The jurors had many different stories about what happened the night of the murder. The # 8 juror was not sure about voting the boy guilty. H e did not believe in executing innocent people. So he thinks about every aspect of the case and avoided prejudice. He was able to change the opinions of others. So the vote changed from eleven to one to nine to three.
