This is true, but it shouldn't happen at the expense of more qualified individuals. African Americans and Hispanics don't start out with the same opportunities, they can't afford private school or SAT prep courses. There are many poor Caucasians who don't have those opportunities either. Some even think it should exist because of the past oppression of the African Americans.
