Security experts have reported that there is no evidence that a metal detector will solve the problem of violence in schools (Apfel 22). Even with the gun laws, and medal detectors, people are still continuing to sneak guns and other weapons into the schools.

All security guidelines should include the mission of the school security unit and guidelines for handling internal crimes with safeguards built to protect schools. Schools in America today are in greater need of school security than in other time in the past. With team work and focusing on the needs of schools, in time hopefully the schools crime rate will decrease. Having security in schools not only protects the students, but also offers a safeguard to the students, making them feel a little at ease about violence that is being taken place in schools today.
