A detailed Summary of The American Dream


This novels theme is based mostly upon the "American Dream." Throughout the two chapters I read, I have learned a lot about how Gatsby has tried to accomplish this American dream.

Gatsby tells his story of how he started out as a poor kid, born in a small town in North Dakota. In Gatsby's mind, the start of his American Dream started when he changed his name from Jay Gatz, to James Gatsby. He did this at age 17 hoping it would start him off in the right
