Death of a Salesman and The Crucible have both similarities and differences in their plots. In both plays, the main character ( Willy in Death of a Salesman and Putnam in The Crucible ) had an affair. In both cases it led to tension in the family and troubled the main characters greatly. Both were quite tragic and the main character lost his life. One difference was that Death of a Salesman was very slow at times, while The Crucible was fast-paced. The plot of Death of a Salesman spanned about two days, The Crucible's plot took place over months.
