would you be mad if you were not treated equally? When you are not treated equally, you rebel. It would be different if you were a woman in the 1800s. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is an unforgotten tale of love and independence. The theme is fighting for independence to get respect. Jane Eyre, the heroine of the story, sturggles to be a unique and respected female. Jane was rebellious in her actions when she wanted to be equal to men. She dreamed of independence from the male chauvinist world of the 1800s.

Jane was a young unloved orphan girl, who lived with an aunt who disliked her. Jane quarrels and then rebels with her aunt because she is not treated like on of her
