"There was never a proud man thought so absurdly well of himself as the lover doth of the person loved: And therefore it was well said, that it is impossible to love and to be wise." --Of Love
This quote is written about love and states the fact that love causes blindness. The first part of this quote is explained simply as a man can never be more proud of himself than his lover is at any given time. Everyone has heard the quote "Love is blind." He might also be trying to tell the reader to never try and be more proud of yourself than your loved one because that could lead to self-centeredness. Love is good for everyone, but you have to be aware of what love can do to people.
