BraveHeart
I chose the movie Braveheart because of the story line and how well the story evolves. The movie begins with a voice over telling how the king of England plotted to kill all the nobles in Scotland and how young Williams Wallace witness the whole thing. The actor who played young Williams Wallace did a superb job of acting. The scene where his father and brother were buried was believable. From the start of the movie where the King of England plotted to kill all the Scots noble show the king of England had power and no body will defy him. The beginning scene of young Williams Wallace showing the killing and the death of his brother and father kind give the plot that Williams Wallace will seek revenge for his brother and father, but as the movie go on, it was not the revenge for his brother or father but it was the revenge for his wife. The scene where Williams Wallace returns to his hometown all grown up and wanted to raise a family and live peacefully was a bit odd. I would think that he would seek revenge for his father. But the scene where Williams Wallace court Murron was beautifully done. It shows how Williams Wallace tries to talk to Murron but on his way he get stop by Hemmis challenge him to a rock throwing
All the actors in this movie have great talent, even though most are no wells know, but they did a great job of portraying the characters. The Bruce's where the father was behind the scene make all the treaty between the king of England and making Robert Bruce betrayed Williams Wallace not only once but twice show how the father love for his son. He wanted his son to be the king of Scotland and is willing to bargain with the king of England for it. Bruce's are willing to scarify his own people to have power. The same for the king of England, He was so concerned about Williams Wallace because Williams Wallace poses a threat to his kingdom, he willing to grand the Bruce's king of Scotland for the head of Williams Wallace. It was his comfort to know that Williams Wallace is dead before he dies, this will make his son thrown safe, but as the princess told a secret to the dying king that she have a child from Williams Wallace and that his son thrown will not last long. The irony is that the king of England tries to protect his kingdom but instead hand his kingdom to his enemy. The scene where Williams Wallace was crown knight and the entire noble was fighting over whom will air to the thrown. He stands in front of all the noble of Scotland and told them " You've so concerned with squabbling for the scraps from Longshank's table that you've missed your god-given right to something better". As a commoner Williams Wallace has rose to power thru the people who supported him and the noble have to recognize him by making him a knight. Even thought Williams Wallace was a night he love his country and wanted to defeat England so he and his people have a country of their own. When Williams Wallace had a dream about his wife and she said to wake up in his dream it did not make any sense to me but it did stress that he love her very munch and she the drive force behind his fight against the English. I thought Mel Gibson plays a superb role and the character was believable.
