Comparative Response: Sun-Tzu and Dalai-Lama

In the two passages assigned to me I read how Sun-Tzu focuses how to attack the weak and Dalai-Lama's points of views on compassion.

These completely contrasting points of views can be similar in certain ways. If you think about, Sun-Tzu and Dalai-Lama are both considering or looking at another party. Whether if someone is seeking victory by defeating the other opponent or someone is feeling sorry or being compassionate towards other's pain, another party is on their mind. In order to attack or have compassionate two parties must be involved. Another similarity are the issues or subjects within these acts. For example, both involve vulnerability. The "bad" side says not to be vulnerable and the "good" side says to be vulnerable. Whether one side says to do something or not the issue or subject(s) are still presen


t. Another similarity is both Sun-Tzu and Dalai-Lama think that attacking the weak and being compassionate are the right things do to. In my opinion I think they are both right.

They are both right because this can benefit and apply to everyone. For example, the United States of America is on the verge of war. It would be wise to consider Sun-Tzu's "Art of War" tactics. The second example: being compassionate can involve vulnerability, but how much compassion is too much? Being too compassionate and vulnerable can cause people to take you for granted and no one I know wants to be taken for granted. Being too violent and uncompassionate towards people can push them away and eventually ruin relationships. One example that pertains to me is when I used to be too compassionate and vulnerable with my boyfriend. He kept treating me in a "joking" kind of way that w
