A Letter to Jonathan Swift

Every night on the streets of Ireland, I am afraid to sleep because my greatest fear is that when I wake my children will no longer be by my side. I have never had the privilege of being sure of their safety. Every mother should have the right to know her children are safe.

Most mothers resort to this final act of desperation to kill their own children and allow them to die in order to save them from the hunger and illness that have become a normal everyday struggle for themselves and their surviving children. They do it so that the children will not have to go through what they them
