For these functions to be met the person first needs to realize that missing out on one nutrient may mean missing out on others. The body is made up of many cells and basically there is a type of homeostasis that is taking place. In many instances if a person has too much of one nutrient is excreted through as waste via digestive or urinary tract. The human brain is comprised of nearly sixty percent of fat and nearly thirty percent of is in the form of the long chain fatty acids (DHA). Essential fatty acids are the building blocks of the membranes (gate keepers) of every cell in the body. Because the brain is compromised of the most fats it is directly affected by the intake of essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids cannot be produced by the body they need to be fead orally to be absorbed by the digestive tract. Brain synapses require long chain fatty acids to be efficient.
