Women in these early times were not allowed to do much, but the things they were allowed helped their economies much more than most would think. As time would go on, women received a little bit of a higher status and with this status their overall meaning and ways of life increased.

In early Mesopotamia, women played a significant role in the overall food productions. The productions include the food preparation, gathering, carrying, and presenting. Women in this civilization gathered and kept the overall supply of the food for their families. For it was in this civilization that the women had been given their first purpose in life.
