Effects of Cheating on Tests

A detailed Summary of Effects of Cheating on Tests

Ever cheated on a test? Statistics show that one out of nine students will cheat on a test before graduating from high school. Everyday and in almost every school, cheating takes place among students. It even occurs in colleges. It is not a big occasion when a child in grade school or even high school is caught cheating on a test, however it is a significant occasion when a student in college is caught cheating on a test. Several students admit they cheat just because they know that they can get away with it. Many students choose to take the easy way out by cheating, but they do not consider the negative effect of it. Students being directed in unhealthy directions, picking up unconstructive habits, and also being seriously penalized are some of the effects of cheating on tests.

While many students choose to take the easy way out by cheating, they do not reflect on the fact that it can direct them in an unhealthy direction, can lead to more unconstructive habits, and can also result in serious penalties. If that information was known by all students who cheat, many of them would probably think twice before considering cheating again.

Cheating on tests can result in major penalties. Students risk the chance of earning a zero if they shall choose to cheat on a test. Some teachers/professors give a grade of zero to students who are caught cheating. A zero on a test for a college student generally results in the student having to take the class over. They also risk the chance of being kicked out of school. When it comes to cheating, many colleges have policies whose outcome is the withdrawal of the student.
