A detailed Summary of John Donne
Love is one of the most beautiful feelings of the world. Many odes, poems, essays, and other literary work explain or give different meanings of love. Love can be and addiction to human beings because once you get in, is almost impossible to escape the emotions felt toward the other person. That's a vision shared by many people although, some doesn't appreciate the true meaning of love and the devotion that the other person is investing in the relationship. People even compare love to the majestic relationship between them and God. In John's Donne poem "The Canonization" love is exalted and expressed as one the most vital feeling of the world.
The first stanza introduces us to the conflict of a trouble loving man. We can tell that the man lived a hard life by the way the poem tells us how people treated him. Even though he wasn't that good looking he had an appreciation for the arts and religion made him a very sensitive and caring

The second stanza demonstrates how he turns to a defensive mood asking questions as he was talking to an oppressive society. He asked himself how society can visualize his loving couple as another victim of his passionate love. He is affirming that did not recurred to force or lying strategies to win her love. He does this by comparing soldiers and lawyers actions to win something. Once again he confirms the greatness of his love to her. By his choice of words or diction the narrators let us know how much and how seriously are his affection toward the woman he loves.
