Chess as a Subject
· In a survey 4 out of 6 teenagers said that Chess is their favourite game. According to this information Chess would be a good subject to be taught in school. Here are some reasons why chess should be taught as a subject: The first and most important reason is that Chess is not a game of chance or luck but is a strategic game, and because of all the possible combenations and choices we enhance our abilities in logic, making the right choices, and generally thinking about things more thoroughly. The second reason is that if students learn and practice playing Chess they may improve in other subjects like art, music, mathematics, and science because Chess develops our abilities in logic, prediction, and spatial awareness. The third reason is that if Chess should be taught as a subject it will be a very in expensive one because only a couple of different books will be required for the teacher and twice less the number of chessboards than the number of students. Fourthly the school would be invited to Chess contests that it normally wouldn't be invited to, so it has more chances to win more awards as well as the students themselv
