Trinity

A detailed Summary of Trinity

On Sunday, June 14th, a nice hot summer day, I got up early to finish my packing and get all my food together. I was getting ready for a week of camping up at Lake Trinity with three of my good friends and one of their moms. Jen and Jo came to my house earlier to help my prepare the food. We were expecting Kate along with her mom to arrive around 8:30, but really turned out that they showed up around 9:00. As they arrived we all scrambled to get our bags and load everything up in the Chinook!! (Kate's mini motor home!!!) The coolest ride around! After getting everything situated we began our journey!! Well we didn't start it quite yet, we still had a few stops ahead of us before we were actually on our way!! The first stop was at a safeway in Rocklin, Evonne, Kate's mom had to pick up a few extra things to hold us through the week. Once we left there we had to make one last stop at a boat store to find the best tube for boating. We found it, and enormous tube that four people can go on!! It was perfect, there were four of us and a four person tube!!! What more do you need??? We left there around 10:00 and headed out to the freeway! This was the actual beginning of our excursion!!!

So after we set up the tent and got everything unloaded we decided that we wanted to go out in the boat just to look at the water and see how the lake was. Ron, Kate's uncle took us out to show us around! It was starting to get dark so we headed back up to the camp site so we could eat and then just hang out and do whatever. We had a great dinner nothing that normal campers eat, it was spaghetti!! We were so stuffed that we thought it would be smart to take a walk around to try and walk off all this food! We went down to the "beach" which was actually just rocks and red dirt, but we walked along it down the the dock then headed back up.

To this day I still cannot believe how sore we were, each morning it was a little better but then we would go out again and do everything ten times harder, so we would just be more sore in the mornings! I would definitely say it was all worth it! It I could go back and change anything about this trip, I would only change and incident with my eye!! The second day I woke up but my left eye was swollen shut!! The swelling would go down by that evening but in the morning I wouldn't be able to open it again. I happened for like four days, but then it finally went away and we still do not know for sure what it was!! Oh there is one other thing I would change, the third day we were there we had a mud fight!! It was so dirty and gross, but it was fun. There were I think eight of us, five girls and three boys, we were tackling each other and just making a mess of ourselves!! The thing I would change about it is the fact I had on a pair of boxers that were red, white, and blue, stars and stripes, and the mud stained the white stars so now they are brown, red, and blue!! Nothing to bad but I just wished they were white! Overall this trip was so fun, I am glad I went and I learned so many things. I would have to say it was the best trip of my life, we were gone for seven days and I don't think I could have done anything funner if I hadn't gone!!

We finally arrived around 3:00 and met up with about five or six other family's. our group of girls shared a camp site with Kate's uncle and his crew! We decided that we should set up our tent before anything else so that we could get everything situated then go out and let the fun begin!!!! This was probably the hardest thing we did as a group, well not hard but it was very difficult!! There was a cleared spot right down this hill by the camp site, so we thought that would be the best place for our tent!! Little did we know that it was quite the little hill itself!! We had no choice, we had to use that spot, because there was nowhere else near us that we could use! Apparently it was pretty amusing for the adults to watch us, they just sat at the table above and laughed hysterically at us while we tried to figure out how to set this thing up! We really had no clue what we were doing. After 30-45 minutes of struggling we managed to get it up! We didn't realize that our tent was on this sla
