Abortion is Murder
Abortion is clearly murder, as no one can deny. No one can also deny that it is a murder of the innocent. Medical studies show clearly that a fetus is conscious and is performing all six life processes. Just because a fetus may not have a complete lung formed doesn't mean he or she isn't human. Many people are born without all body organs or limbs. A lot of people who are against the death penalty are in favor of abortion. That is indeed contradictory. It shows they are not about justice but sin. Abortion is one of the worst types of murder because it is the killing of a person who has not committed any sin. Those who practice abortion should receive the same penalty that they give the baby. Even though abortion is now legal, it is still murder, and current abortion laws should be repealed. Life begins at conception, so abortion is murder according to the Ten Commandments. God not only created us, He also considers us His children. Every person, whether born or unborn, is a child of God. Often abortion advocates argue that the word "abortion" is not found in The Bible; implying that we are, therefore, free to make our own rules about abortion. Does the absence of the word "abortion" in The
It has recently been discovered that a sperm has 23 chromosomes and no matter what, even though it is alive and can fertilize an egg it can never make another sperm. An egg also has 23 chromosomes and it can never make another egg. So we have eggs and sperm that cannot reproduce. A solitary egg or a solitary sperm does not have the complete genetic code for a separate human being. The ovum and the sperm is each a product of another's body: unlike the fertilized egg, neither is an independent entity. Neither one is complete. Like cells in someone's hair or fingernails, an egg or sperm does not have the capacity to become other than what it already is. Both are essentially dead-ends, destined to remain what they are until they die in a matter of days. This negates one It is awfully crazy to even think of a woman having the right to choose whom to murder, much less a youth. Yet, women and youth do have "choices" with abortion. Katie Cochrance of the school of Foreign Service said, "Feminists use the word 'choice' so much it's easy to forget that sometimes it's a terrible choice."("Abortion Debate" 1) Just because the baby is in the woman's body doesn't mean she has the right to do whatever she wishes with the baby. Hitler tried to annihilate Jews in his country. Indeed, if a woman can do whatever she wishes with her baby in her body, some would say Hitler can do whatever he wished with the people in his nation. Physical and mental handicaps do not mean that the unborn child will not contribute to society. Writer Melinda Delahoyde suggests, "Some think that death might be the best option for some handicapped children because they think real people are 'normal' people. They also think that being different means being less of a person. Both of these attitudes are common in our society and both of them are worth examining to help us understand this issue." (Congenital Disease Does not Justify Abortion 116) For example, a deformed person has enough heart distress from being deformed. Who would add to it by murdering him? In Time Magazine i
