My Life in the Great Depression

A detailed Summary of My Life in the Great Depression

This television is impossible to turn on, all these buttons on this remote N.A.S.A must've made this thing. I just got used to turning this V.C.R on thanks to my grandson. But now he's telling me about this D.V.D contraption. I didn't think watching "I Love Lucy" would be so difficult. I remember the good old days when all u had to turn on the radio for some good entertainment. Damn I guess its true when they say " time flies by." I used to try and help out around the house as much as I can Me and my brother even worked with my father. Since he lost his leg in the war there wasn't much he could do but our dirt bag landlord O'Connor gave him a job rolling cigars. I can remember my mother yelling at dad for smoking around us, and then we ending up rolling cigars with him. The whole house smelled like tobacco and the pay was bad. We had to roll 4000 cigars a week and we earned $15 but $11.75 went towards the rent(Davidson 192) ,with the rest of the money my mom would by the milk, bread and peas.
