My Football career
A detailed Summary of My Football career
It was my first time that I'd played competition football, it was under 17's and I was playing for East Warrnambool Football Club. They had had a few bad seasons in the past but had picked up a lot of new recruits to try and get their team back on track, like they used to be 10 years ago. They had a new coach take over the position as the old coach had moved to the capital of Australia, Canberra.
I remember that the football season was 2 weeks away, I had gone to the sports store searching for my needs. There was size 8 then 9 then finally my size, 10. I thought to myself that these boots looked nice
I had been mostly distracted by the girl at the cash register, for a moment I had almost forgotten what else I had come for. She had long blonde hair and her eyes were as blue as the sea.
I gathered my shorts, socks, boots, and mouthguard, which were top quality. I approached the counter, the girl had smiled at me and told me that it will cost $280. I had calmly and casually put my hand into my pocket and then pulled out my wallet. I had opened my wallet and realised that I had only brought in $250 into the store with me.
I told her to just wait a moment while I went out to the car and got the rest of th

I wasn't used to the footy boots yet and almost slipped over on the concrete. We had done a few drills before the game. Finally the game started, I was playing Right Forward Pocket.
I realised that the siren had gone when the crowd cheered. We had won our first game of the season! I had had a taste of football and loved it. The feeling of pride, of having contributed to the win. Being slapped on the back and having the whole team around me, surrounding me with joy and laughter still brings a smile to my face even now when I think of it.
After dinner that night I had recalled what my grandfather had told me a few years ago. He had told me how his first game had gone and how excited he had been. But in the first few minutes had been surrounded by three guys. Bang, Bang, Bang.
That was the turning point in the game as our team's spirits had began to rise. The game had slowly dragged on and the lead had changed plenty of times as the game had neared the end.
