Today, millions of all around the world play a game called golf, but what they don't realize is that it's one of the most hazardous games on earth.
Years ago, golf was a game that many could play and were happy doing so. Nowadays, instead of providing enjoyment and relaxation, golf creates stress. Golfers are constantly evaluating the situation they are in before hitting the ball. They have to compensate for the wind, how long the grass is, the slope of the ground and the weather. This continual thinking process can lead to stress. Anxiety is most often caused when a player makes a poor shot after he/she had thought it over carefully. As well as causing stress, golf can cause many injuries. Golf is a physically dangerous sport. For one thing, many back injuries come from golfing. The hunched over position needed for putting and the frequent swinging at the ball creates back strain and over time can lead to more serious problems. Golf clubs are a very dangerous piece of equipment. Many people have been struck in the head and killed because they were standing too close to a person swinging a club. After frequent use, the golf club shaft becomes weak and sometimes snaps on impact with the golf ball which could strike an observer. Another reason why some people leave the golf course in black bags is because of heart attacks. This is due to the fact that the extra stress is just too much for many of the senior golfers. Depending on where people golf, different types of wild animals are a threat. For example, in Florida, crocodiles may snap at people retrieving balls from water traps, and in the north, bears might attack people searching for balls in forests.
