The Man On The Moon

In the early 1950's, America and the Soviet Union competed in the greatest race of all time. It was the race to space, more specifically the race to the moon. The Space Race became a symbol of a broad political contest between two rival world powers. Both the U.S. and the Soviet Union struggled to reach the moon, and put man on it. "Before a watchful world, each side sought to demonstrate its superiority through impressive feats in rocketry and space flight."("Space Race"). The Soviet Union put the first satellite into orbit, as well as the first human in space. America had to reply, so we in turn put the first man on the moon, with the Soviet Union following close at our heels when they nearly succeeded in doing the same. Since America was in such a rush to reach the moon, several skeptics, and conspiracy theorists have brought up the idea that this historical event was possibly faked. There is a good deal of evidence that demonstrates no one had actually ever landed on the moon.

NASA may not have had the technical capability of going to the Moon just yet, but pressure from the Soviet Union may have forced them to

The last bit of evidence against landing on the moon deals with "identical backgrounds."("The Great Moon Hoax"). In one particular background, photos show the lunar lander with a distinct mountain in the background. They then show another picture of the exact same mountain, but no lander in the foreground at all. The astronauts could not have taken either picture before landing, of course, especially when the lander leaves its bottom half on the moon. Therefore, there should have been something in the second image no matter what, and the foreground could not be empty. The mountain background may be a fake set, and NASA could have reused it for another shot accidentally.

I am not exactly sure if humans actually did land on the moon. If they did not land on the moon, I sure don't want to believe it. Evidence is evidence though, and it is something that cannot be changed. Maybe there are some simple explanations for the way things came out, but maybe not. Maybe landing on the moon was found to be much more difficult than first thought. With today's technology I have little doubt that man could land on the moon and prance around for the en
