Holocaust

It's always said is good to make peace with your past. Well for me that's not the case. It's too hard to let go a painful past and all the things I went through.

From the early 1930's through mid 1940's leaving in Germany were years that no one would ever forget. Through these years of horror, coldness and pain, lots of Jewish blood was washing the grounds of Germany and others doing what they could do to get food but also for their own lives. Hitler and the Nazis wanted us the Jew all to suffer and die because they believe Jews shouldn't share the planet with the rest of the people. So he orders to make our lives a living hell.

Let me introduce myself, my named is James Miller. Born in Berlin July 15 1915. My Father Mr. Joseph Miller a doctor, my mother Mrs. Adel Miller a housewife and part-time teacher, and my two younger sisters Linda of 17yrs old and Suzette of 14yrs old. We were a close family and happy. My mama and papa (that's how we called them) made our lives a living joy. We would do all sort of family things like my mother and my two younger sisters would play the piano; they would watch me play soccer on the weekends. "Hey kids go finish your homework and in a little while dinner would be ready." Those were the k

I was so happy to see my family reunited again. I lived with my family for a couple of months and then Daniel and I found good jobs and we moved in together in nice apartment in Manhattan. A year later we both came out to our family about your relationship and to our surprise they already knew what was going on between us they were just waiting for us to tell them. They accepted our relationship and wished us well, we were so happy that things came out so nice between us.

I couldn't hold the tears that were building inside of me. I put the letter close to my chest and then I destroyed it. Right away I opened the letter Daniel wrote to me. It was the most beautiful letter I've ever received, this is when I realized how special this guy was for me. After I read his letter I was called by the commander in chief to notify me that I was going to be transfer to another camp to work in two days. This made me stronger and eager to fight for my life and survive after I read those letters. I knew that in two days I was going to be transfer along with hundreds of other prisoners to another camp. I didn't know if they really were going to take us to another camp or kill us. The day came and inside I was so afraid, we walked and walked all day my friend Joseph was among us. We walked together and there I told him my plan of escaping. He wasn't sure to join me, he was afraid to be killed. I explain to him that we didn't know if at the end of the road they were going to kill us anyway. So why not risk by escaping and to survive. The chance came when a caravan of truck along with officer's cars pass by and there we took our chance and ran into the bushes and hide from view until it was clear. Then we ran far away; we didn't even know where we were. Day after day we would walk and feed ourselves with anything we find. One night we were surrounded by a group of people we thought it was the Nazis that caught us but it was other Jews that decided to escape. They were loaded with guns. They helped us and to our surprise we were walking towards Israel. There we knew we were going to be safe. It wasn't easy for us to get there I even lost count of how many officers we killed and how many of our people were killed. It took weeks and weeks until we got to Israel. Once there the people were so helpful they offer us a roof and food. The military from Israel explain to us that they were aware of what Hitler and the Nazis had done to us and that they were going to help the Jews. The Nazis were beginning to leave the Jews alone and in peace, since everybody was against them for what they had done to a lot of innocent people.

"Here's a letter for you from your family and a guy named Daniel."

After everything went back to normal and the Jews were at peace; I returned back to Germany to Daniel's house. I was really happy to see him again. I really couldn't wait to have him in my arms and make love. They all were surprise to see me alive; I also brought with me my old friend Joseph. He wanted to see if any of his family survived the horror so he left and promised to write to me as soon as he could. I was welcomed to stay at the Gooch resident and share room with Daniel. My mother sent letters to Mr. and Mrs. Gooch every other week letting them know where they were living. First they were living in Venezuela since the ship was denied to enter USA, Canada, Central America and in South America they were selective as to who were allowed. My family happened to be the lucky ones after a while my mother and sisters moved to New York City, USA. There they settled down and waited for news about my father and I, she also sent money for our expenses. The first thing I did was send my mother a letter stating that I was alive and well and that I was living at the Gooch family. I stood there for couple of months, Daniel and I would talk about all the things that happen to each other and then make love. Six years had past and he got more handsome and more desirabl
