Rise In Health Insurance

One of the great things about the United States is that we are a litigious country. If someone were to do a wrong towards us, we have the free right to file a lawsuit against him or her. In many cases, filing suit against that person or persons is the only way to compensate for the wrong they have done. But in this day of age, it seems like we are able to sue anyone for almost anything. For instance, I could sue a fast food company after I get involved in a wreck while drinking one of their milkshakes. I could claim that the fast food company knew that I would be drinking the beverage while driving and claim the company failed to put a label on the drink warning against eating and driving. For many people this case may seem wacky but I'm sure that it could be done. Humans are living longer and we need to have a good health system and medical professionals to keep us living. And for them properly take care of us, they must be able to do their jobs without having someone constantly looking over their shoulders, and wondering if the patient will be suing them.

The threat alone of being sued by a patient is instilled in many doctors' minds. Doctors have to make extra precautions to ensure their patients well being. In the past couple of years, I have worked for three doctors and I have seen what these precautions are. In my current job, working as an assistant optician at an optometrist's clinic, there are a few things we have to do to make sure that we are not going to be held liable in the future. For instance, the doctor has ordered a special type in sign-in form to use, so patients will not be able to find out who has been in the clinic earlier that day. With this form, each line can be peeled off as s
