I think that the cloning of embryos for research purposes should be allowed. Whether the research takes 50 years or not, the discoveries could be highly beneficial to mankind. If those who oppose actually care about mankind in the future, they would also agree with embryo stem cell research. The research of cloning embryo stem cells seems to be, in my opinion, an ethical method of research as well. If sperm doesn't actually fertilize an egg, then embryos aren't actually being cloned.
