I think that in the books nine through twelve, the main thing that was in common was the death of the people. First it was Odysseus who raided the Kikonians and than later when the kikonians turned everything over, it was Odysseus and his companions who flee from them nearly escaping death. After the kikonians they fell into the hands of the outrageous Cyclops, who ate his companions.
