This past July four of my best friends and I were able to take a trip that we will never forget.
Once we graduated from high school we started to think about places that we would like to go. We considered going to a couple of places but we made up our mind on Cancun, Mexico. It wasn't a hard decision for us because we all knew that it would be an easy place for us to have fun.
We began our trip by driving to Denver. We boarded our plane the following day with great excitement and anticipation. The plane trip seemed to last for days. As every minute went by we grew more and more anxious to be there. When we finally arrived in Cancun we were excited to see what we were in for. Knowing that it was going to be an experience that we would never forget we wanted to make the best of it.
We stepped off the plane into wonderful weather. It was in the nineties and it was very humid. I was already in love with Cancun and I hadn't eve left the airport yet. We saw sea turtles, crabs and other animals while we lounged around. This was my favorite time while I was down. It was so relaxing being able to swim in the clear ocean water and forget about everything. This is also what I miss this the most.
Being down there for a week we became pretty good friends with the staff at our hotel. We asked them about there lives. We found that most of the locals down there work everyday and that they do not make much at all. We asked them if they ever thought about coming to America and a lot of them said that they had thought about it and that they would if they had the chance. On of the staff members at the hotel worked six days a week seven hours a day for a dollar fifteen and hour! This is when I began to realize that as beautiful a place that it is and as much as I love everything about it I would not give up being a citizen of the U.S.A., because I would be giving up freedoms and privileges that are not found any where else.
se, as we walked up the steps of the bus we saw the bus driver handing out corona's to everyone that was boarding the bus. We wer
