What is enlightenment? This is a question which has many different meanings and interpretations. Enlightenment seems to be a focal point of many religions throughout the world. This means that religions, such as Buddhism, believe in reaching a higher state of existence. From a literary point of view enlightenment is an education that results in understanding and the spread of knowledge while also allowing the individual to transcend desire and achieve complete and total bliss.
When a person becomes enlightened it is like they have been educated on a whole new way of thinking. People who have reached this type of enlightenment are more willing to receive new ideas than before. This knowledge would then be shared with others in the hope that they will take this knowledge to heart so that they too may have the s

People have different ideas on what would constitute this kind of enlightenment. Some may have a very religious experience and feel that they have been enlightened on their religion. Another feels that the day to day knowledge they absorb by communicating with others is enlightening. These realizations will help people to become more open and accepting of different ways of thinking and help them deal with the everyday problems that we as humans encounter.
