TV and Life Comparison
Television programs and feature films present an extremely accurate image of my race. As a matter of fact I find myself always taking adventures in time through a telephone booth or trying to find my car the day after a night of binge drinking. In case you didn't notice, I am being facetious, because television programs or feature films do not display an accurate image of my race. In order to explain my view point it might be best to give a little bit of a background description of myself. If I were to describe myself as a certain race it would be (using the general categories most commonly given), white. In a more technical aspect however, I should probably be classified as a mutt (a Mutt as being a combination of different ethnic backgrounds and races). If there is an actual term besides Mutt to describe myself, I don't know what it is. Anyway, I have more races streaming through my blood than I have fingers and toes to count (this does not make me a mutant I still have ten fingers and ten toes). The only reason I am explaining this is to exemplify the fact that I cannot use one race in particular, but rather being white as a whole. I am by the way predominantly white. I really see no remedy for this dilemma. People are making money off of these shows so they will not be changed or pulled from the air. Corporate monsters such as Fox or ABC just see the dollar signs they are getting from sponsors. The invasion of the stupid shows has begun and there is no stopping them now. s that are broadcasting out on to every one's TV, I really hope that people think we are a bit smarter than presented. It seems like all white people are portrayed as either a drug addict idiot, or a non-rhythm banker with a nasal problem and stick up his (well you know, lets keep it PG). I see shows on TV like "That 70s show," "Scooby-Do," and "The Drew Carey Show," where the actors get paid loads of money to act like idiots. I do realize that stupid comedies are the mainstream that sell tickets and boost ratings, but wouldn't all of that be a little impressionable on today's youth. Maybe we could have an Art imitate life imitate Art perplexity where all our nations children become idiots and end each statement with a surfer accent of "Dude." Other countries must think we are stupid in America if they can get any of our shows over there (i.e. "Friends" is televised in England). Yes, I said "Scooby-Do," even though i
