Francis Scott Key

Francis Scott Key was born in Frederick County, now known as Carroll County, Maryland on August 1st of 1779. He was born into a family established in Maryland, and grew up on the family estate of "Terra Rubra." There, in his hometown, he attended grammar school, and then went on to St. Johns College in Annapolis. Key graduated college at 17 years old, in 1796.*** By 1805, Key
