Last Game
To be given the chance to play varsity baseball was one of the greatest times of my life. I played baseball for four years, and my junior and senior year I made the all-state team. My best friend, Pat, and I played every regular season game and both all-state teams together. The final game of our season was unforgettable. It had been 4 years of great enjoyment with my best friend, Pat Bovee. We always clowned around in practice by joking around with other players but when the game would start we had a high intensity, because playing baseball with the school was very important to us. Pat would pitch, and I would play catcher. When he wasn't pitching, he would play first base. Our baseball team had made it to the championship of our state tournament. Having such a great and inspiring coach made me feel proud to have won the championship for our coach. As for my father, I know he was proud, and I was grateful for all the time and effort he had spent with me. I know I will remember my final game, and all the people that made my baseball career in high school so great for the rest of my life. Pat was pitching a three hitter and I was playing well too, I was 2-4, hitting two doubles and two groundouts. The score kept going back and forth. There were many errors because the field was all dirt and felt like concrete because of the lack of rain. The final inning came around and we were down by one run with two outs when I came to bat. There was no one on base and the pitcher had two strikes on me. The next pitch seemed like it took forever. The pitcher threw
