Martin Luther King Jr. gave an excellent speech on August 28th, 1963. This speech became know as the "I Have A Dream" speech. It was given at the Lincoln Memorial to a crowd of more than 200,000. Dr. King's speech was powerful and moving as he tried to relate to every American's sense of freedom.

Dr King uses very power words and metaphors to paint more than one picture. He opens by capitalizing on the location; he talks about what Lincoln did for Black American by signing the Emancipation Proclamation (2). He then reminds his audience "one hundred years later, the
