Don got his first cancer at the age of sixty-five, and he has had three more since. The first cancer was prostate, the second was breast, the third was colon, and the forth cancer Don has had and still have is spine cancer. If Don would of ate properly than he would have not had cancer this many times. Denise Cedar stated, "Nearly two-thirds of cancer in the United States can be attributed to tobacco use, diet, obesity, and lack of exercise. Thirty percent of cancer deaths can be attributed to the effect of adult diet." (1) More and more research is showing that Cedar is right. It is no secret that a low-fat diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables can help prevent heart disease. Now scientists are showing that it may also prevent against cancer. A good healthy diet helps prevent and protect against cancer. In the three decades since Richard Nixon hauled off and declared a war on cancer, America has spent billions pursuing better ways to kill malignant tumors. Yet our cancer death rate is roughly the same today as it was in1970 (Cowley 60,61). In 1986 researchers were finding dozens of new chemicals in common fruits and vegetables.
