Our country was founded upon the basic principles held within the bill of rights, principles that have held strong for over 200 years. Flag burning is no act of vandalism. Expressing an unpopular viewpoint through flag burning is no crime; rather it is a form of symbolic speech that is protected under the first amendment. Next time you want to express an idea or viewpoint that doesn't align with the standards of our society, should we make it illegal for you to exercise your right to free speech?
