Quite possibly skin's biggest problem is tumors. Tumors are growths that appear on the skin. They can be cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign). Benign tumors can appear as lymphomas, moles and warts. Lymphomas are soft, white lumps of fat that appear on the surface of the skin. Moles are groups of pigment cells that form a flat or raised, brown or black spot on the skin. Warts are caused by a virus and can appear anywhere on the skin. Most warts are dry, rough and raised.
