Another is that the US might have lost their good public image and be accused of being a bully. The raid was also economically draining, speaking of weapons training, equipment development and of course the deployment of troops. Those troops who were deployed have families of their own, how sure are we that they wanted to go to war blindly, without knowing why anyone would want to destroy everything the US stood for.
