The paper will outline the religious tradition of Christianity and examine its ideas of a higher power. This discussion will examine: development and basic tenets of Christianity, definition of ultimate power, the function, importance and definition of faith, the salvation of man, the status of non-believers, God as creator, redeemer and judge. In conclusion, this paper will briefly discuss this writer’s connection with Christianity and God.Development and Basic Tenets of Christianity “Christianity grew out of a variant form of Judaism” (Stern, 1999, p.120). The development of the Christian church was formed after the death of Jesus by his followers who wished to continue his work (Ludwig, 2001).
