Shocked and paralyzed of coldness in the dovecote; Dr. Brown rescued Tita from the ranch. With her depression; she made a quilt to show her melancholy. It was longer than a brides train dragging from Mr. Brown's carriage. There at the house; she learned many things that Dr. Brown changed her life.
First, Tita learned how we have matches in our body. Dr. Brown had affection towards Tita. He also was so happy to teach her many things. Dr. Brown shared a secret that was told from a relative of his about the matches we have in our body. "As you see, within our bodies each of us has the elements needed to produce phosphorus." (Esquivel 116) Dr. Brown tells her we need to take care of them. "You must of course take care to light the matches on at a time. I'm glad that Tita got out from the ranch before she would kill herself with all the misery she had with so many people. She felt deserted and no love anywhere else. She felt betrayed and lied at until she met John Brown. I thought he did so much to help heal her soul and speak her mind. She really expressed herself with the truth and defended her beliefs when John taught her. She rebelled and broke the tradition with her courage that no other ancestor would break. Later, she chose whom she really loved or the one who gave her love. Even though John Brown gave her so much; he understood that he wasn't the man of her dreams. John gave her something that helped her throughout her life; which is the voice to speak her feelings, which later brought her together with Perdro.
e novel when Tita and Pedro ended the story together. Their excitements lighted all the matches and lead them to the tunnel that they forgot when they were born and lead them to eternal happiness together.
