The problem with affirmative action in college education is that the students are often placed in harder schools and classes... This is a good cause to the fact that the majority African-American and Hispanic students who enter any type of higher education don't graduate (Ravitch 112). How can someone feel like they have been helped greatly if this is putting a huge blemish on their record? The government isn't worried about how these people do in school as long as they're enrolled in the best college that they can get them into. This causes me to ask the question: "Why should the government give minorities the "upper-hand" in being accepted to better quality schools, when they can't even graduate? This causes whites to turn to lower quality schools, in which companies that don't turn to affirmative action would have a tough time hiring them.
