Slavery

What is a slave? A slave is a tool, a total servant, and a possession. Being a possession, a slave is required to total obedience to a master who has the power to do anything to a slave. The so-called "freeman" really is a slave. Freedom means, to carry out ones own choices, actions without coercion or constraint by necessity or circumstances. Even when we live in freedom are we really free? Do we really have the choices to do everything our heart, mind, and body desires to do? It was the same with being a slave in the 1800's or even being the color black at that time. The law stated you were a freeman but truly if you were black were you free?

Harriet Jacobs was a very inspirational author. She wrote the book "Incidents in the life of a slave girl". This book taught me a lot of things about slavery and how mistreated they were at that era especially women. She was sexually harassed and always misunderstood. She was kept away from her kids for more than 5 years watching only from a little hole behind the house. She dealt a lot when she was known as a free slave and when she was a slave. If you think slavery ended in 1865, you may want to think again. Today millions of people around the world are forced to work for no pay or payment that is so low there is no need for that. Sudan, Mauritania, and India. All countries live under the threat of violence and poverty if they don't work like slaves. Women aren't free in some countries. We as women have to live under a mans rule in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Iraq. Women are nothing but working dogs, to these men that cook, clean, cover up their whole body, get whipped like slaves, only because they are weak and men think they are on this planet only to make babies and feed them.

Ku Klux Klan, Neo Nazis, and The Aryan Nations, The American Nazi Party. What are these groups? Why are they present in a land of supposed equality of all men? They are there, because there are millions of Americans that believe in their message of white pride. The African American population is growing and Americans are now a mixed group of people. Black people are in white people's neighborhoods; they are doctors, and friends. With a growing unity between the two races, why does racism continue? The answer is simple. Racists from many years ago raise their kids in clans and white supremacy groups and teach them the ways of hatred. These kids grow up "brain-washed" that black people are their enemies and, taught by example, will continue this trend. The Ku Klux Klan has been around since the end of the civil war. It is a roller coaster of a history. From extreme power, to rapid decline, and slow reemergence. The clan, who is notorious for its violence, has a relatively innocent beginning. It was formed from some veterans from the confederate army and was first called the Kuklos Clan, which, in Greek, meant
