It has been a year and a day since I had been to a tournament of this magnitude. As I walked down the ramp to the main floor, I could smell the anticipation, anxiety, and the fear. It was a well-welcomed smell. It gave me a sense of being at rest again. This is what I lived for throughout my high school career and I was finally back, not as a wrestler, but as a spectator this time. I could hand that, just as long as I could get in all three days of wrestling.

Aberdeen, my main focus, had thirteen wrestlers to make it to the state tournament after they had successfully taken the fifth district title for the first time in twelve years. This was their year to shine and prove to everyone that they here to stay.

The final's round of the tournament began on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with the parade of champions. After the parade they proceeded with the final matches of each division of schools and weight. I stood so close to the match that it felt almost like I was there to wrestle in the tournament.

As I watched the quarter-final championship round for two hours, there were more upsets in on the first seeded wrestlers that I had ever seen before.
