The words of a girl named Juliet Capulet in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Her choice to take her own life is made because of her love for a boy named Romeo Montague who made the same choice she did for the same reason. This is the last choice these two made and the only one that they thought they had left because of the childish decisions they had made earlier in the story. The death of these two could have been avoided easily just by making the right choices. Some may think that there was no way to avoid their deaths. Some think fate caused their tragic deaths but it was really childish decisions that brought about their demise.
The first choice Romeo makes is when he decides to go to Capulets party. By doing this he has all ready set the stage for his death. If he didn't go to the party he would have never met Juliet and he would have still been heart broken about his other love
When Romeo first sees Juliet inside the party he is astounded by her beauty and claims he is in love. " Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! / For ne'er saw true beauty till this night."(1.5.57-58) These are the words coming out of a boy who came to this party to get over his last love. Romeo claiming to be in love is another perfect example of a confused young man trying to figure out what love is. Romeo now being so convinced he is in love kisses Juliet and expresses his feelings to her. Juliet only a thirteen-year-old girl is confused but cant help but think that their love is true after hearing Romeo tell her what he thinks. What Romeo has created is an example of puppy love between two young confused teenagers and it is leading to disaster.
The age of Romeo and Juliet is major reason for their deaths. If they would have been older they could have thought out more thoroughly what they were doing because with age comes wisdom. But their age shouldn't be the only thing blamed because it was not only Romeo and Juliet's decisions but also Friar Lawrence. At the
