The case against Walter Sickert always starts and ends in his artwork. The painter is now widely known and praised for his London music hall scenes. Heads decapitated, torsos with all limbs severed, he drew what he fantasized about, and the images are disturbing to say the very least. The shows he attended were always late at night and after attending he was known to walk the streets of the scum London underbelly for hours, often not returning home for days and days. where he was in this unaccounted for time cannot be certain although Sickert was known for having several secret studios and lofts in which he painted and lived from time to time.
