There are many factors that contributed to the German successes in WWII. One important factor is their sudden massive attacks, a.k.a. blitzkrieg, which they used to capture territory such as Poland. Bombers of the German luftwaffe attacked Norway, which also fell to Germans within 2 days. Next, Hitler aimed for France. Using the blitzkrieg, German troops captured Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Hitler was able to capture the northern 2/3 of France.
