In my travels through London, I've found that the city has grown quite a lot. The Industrial era is was a great time to be alive in my opinion. It was full of new opportunities, now people, and new ideas. During the Industrial era, the most visual change might be the different buildings that have gone up. A most peculiar one is the Crystal Palace, built by the rich upper-class folk of their time. It is an enormous structure and anyone who walks by it might mistake it for a china closet.

A most important positive effect would be the modern inventions. During and a little after the Industrial era, there were some historical inventions created. The Cowpox vaccine was finally created in 1796. The telephone was invented in 1876 by Howard Bell, and the light bulb was invented in 1879. The X-ray machine, used to see inside of a body, was invented in 1895. These technological masterpieces may come to be useful in the coming years. Who knows?

There were as many negative effects as there were positive ones. For example, child labor became a controversial issue. During the Industrial era, parents got jobs. The parents didn't get to see their children, which resulted in unhappy families. The children became malnourished, became sick and deformed because of the nature of their work. In comparison to men, children earned a shilling per week-10% of what men would make in a week. Children also worked long hours, which would keep them away from any sort of education. That was another negative aspect of the revolution. Few children and even adults received a formal education. The teachers were grungy, older adults who they themselves had not much more than the children for an education.

A: I was a piecer till I was about 15 or 16 years of age.
