The most important event in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird happens in the last few chapters of the novel. It is when Bob Ewell attacks Jem and Scout Finch on their way home from the Halloween pageant, and it is the most important event because it is the climax of the story. Also, this novel begins at the end (this event), looking back at when Jem broke his arm during this incident and the rest of the novel looks back at the events that leads up to this.
After the initial attack, and Scout is back at home, we see that she has matured a lot throughout this story and has learned from Atticus' teaching and example. This is evident in her understanding of why Arthur Radley was not to be
